Greetings

Welcome to Silver Wood, part of Old Park Wood near Goudhurst in Kent. Silver wood is 10 acres of semi-natural ancient woodland; sweet chestnut coppice with oak standards and lots of invasive silver birch. With advice from the Kent Wildlife Trust we are gradually improving this long neglected woodland by restoring the coppice and maintaing the rides. By opening up the woodland we are already seeing more bluebells in spring, more inverterbrates in summer (the white admiral butterflies are fabulous) and generating wood for heating, for green energy generation and for crafts in the winter.
